Did you know that not even a couple of decades ago, flying into the UAE meant dealing with a beaten, compacted sand runway and a tiny terminal in the middle of a Dubai that was all desert? You certainly wouldn't think that if you have had a chance to see the Dubai International Airport recently, especially not if you have been lucky enough to have been serviced through its Terminal 3, the iconic materialization of over seven years and over $4 billion in planning. Even in comparison to its older Terminals 1 and 2, the latest one is a modern architectural wonder and a poignant expression of Dubai's rapid growth.
